This is a unique town that has a long history with the Portuguese, the locals and slavery. This means that the small town is filled with ancient buildings and a church that has a steeple with a view. The city use to be a bustling hub of activity but it sadly died down after Maputo became the capital. Luckily the tourist system started growing and now the town is a hot spot for diving and enjoying the waters of Mozambique. There are several places where you can dive and the nearby nature reserves provide you with the chance to see untouched natural habitats.
