Medjumbe Private Island
Located in Northern Mozambique the Medjumbe Private Island is one of the many islands making up the Quirimbas Archipelago and is ideal for an intimate getaway. You will experience privacy and exclusivity on this remote island. This tiny island is renowned for its seafood, hospitality and fantastic diving with its coral reefs and ocean views. The transfer to the island is approximately 45 minutes from Pemba airstrip.
Medjumbe is tiny,this private tropical island, just 1km long and 500m wide, is surrounded by warm, clear water and spectacular coral reefs. Escape to this remote island to enjoy the slow pace of life, and a bit of sun, sand and sea.
Medjumbe Private Island does not allow children under the age of 12.
The island has 13 Beach Chalets which are palm-thatched each luxuriously furnished offering seclusion, however are located close to the guest areas and steps away from the ocean. Each Chalet offers a full en-suite bathroom with both indoor and outdoor shower. Outside of each chalet you have a hammock for your relaxation and a private plunge pool offering fantastic views of the Indian Ocean. The chalets all have air conditioning, mosquito nets, ceiling fans, hairdryer, satellite TV and tea and coffee making facilities.
The stay at the Medjumbe Private Island is very relaxing, the main building on the island provides a restaurant, bar and lounge area for your use. Also upstairs you have a quiet reading and games area. The island also has a swimming pool with outside seating area and there is equipment available for diving, windsurfing, kayaking, sailing, snorkeling and fishing. Medjumbe offers phenomenal diving and snorkelling, apart from the 12 known dive sites, intrepid divers can set out to explore a host of new dive locations so far undiscovered.
