Maputo

Map

Located on the coast of Mozambique the city of Maputo has a long history that has been interwoven with the political struggles of the country. It was founded by the Portuguese in the early 1700’s. It quickly gained fame for its golden beaches and the warm temperatures throughout the year. The entire country is perfect for any vacation goer. Up until recently, when the civil war stopped, the country was unknown as a vacation spot. However in recent years it has become one of the go to vacation location for citizens from Europe and Africa.

This means that the entire city is welcoming to tourists with only certain rural areas being high risk spots. With museum and memorials spread out throughout the city you can make a day of visiting these wonderful buildings that are all filled with the history of Mozambique.

Because the town is on the coast you can enjoy more than just the museums, the waters here are all tropical. This means that you can go scuba diving or snorkelling and see just how amazing the fish that roam the sea really are. With the systems that handle tourists getting better every year and the building styles unique to the area you can be assured that you won’t to leave.

Maputo is the capital of Mozambique and like the rest of the country you can visit this lovely place anytime throughout the year and still have the perfect weather.
